Seventh Annual Writers' Weeks in Iceland
May 23-31, 2006 and May 31-June 9, 2006, Hofsós, Iceland
Travel with northern writers Bill Holm and Judith Niemi to Iceland, where the heroes and outlaws of the sagas lived, and fought—and recited poems at each other. Where the people know and value their literary heritage, and the tradition of the farmer/poet (or bus driver/poet) lives on. The trip is fully catered, in hospitable Icelandic style, in a fishing village on the north coast. A good place to work on your own writing and refresh your spirit. Click Here.
  • JUST RELEASED MARCH 19, 2004: "Notes From the Black Piano - Selected Poems by Bill Holm" on the EssayAudio.Com audioworks label. A new collection of poetry, hand-picked by Mr. Holm, and read by the author. Special CD pricing of $9.00 for a limited time on orders from this website.
  • We welcome Afton Historical Society Press's help in bringing Bill Holm's newest audiobook, "Faces of Christmas Past", to publication. In addition to Mr. Holm's reading of the unabridged version of the book, he plays and sings many of the Christmas songs and carols mentioned in the book. And there's a pretty good chocolate chip cookie recipe.
  • Another new unabridged audiobook, and the first from Minnesota essayist Carol Bly, is going to press in time for the holidays. "An Adolescent's Christmas: 1944", read for you by its author. Available here and through bookstores.

Check back for other holiday surprises coming soon!

  • We've finished the recording sessions for Bill Holm's latest book "Eccentric Islands: Travels Real and Imaginary", published by Milkweed Editions. The audiobook is being published by Big Productions, P.O. Box 120442, St. Paul, MN, 55112-0018, and will be available when licensing is completed.
